Grammy Nominated and International Touring Artist, Gerard Delafose has been playing Zydeco Music and performing on stage since the age of 4 with His Legendary Grandfather, the Late, John Delafose.
Gerard quickly moved from guitar and washboard to accordion and drums, further honing His skills with His also Legendary Uncle, Geno Delafose. For over 30 years, He has performed on stages at the New Orleans Jazz Fest, Festival International, Blues to Bop in Switzerland, French Quarter Fest, BET and many more.
Formed in 2007, Gerard Delafose and the Zydeco Gators currently perform over 100 shows per year, with their first album release in 2017 (Can’t Make You Love Me). Gerard is currently in the studio finishing up their soon to be released second album as well as working on other Music Projects and Collaborations.
The band and I mix up our own fresh funky groove from double beats,straight beats,triple beats,waltz,bluesy and slow belly rubbing dancing sounds into the music we play. We also uphold a high standard of professional ethic, while knowing how to entertain even the toughest of crowds!
